Portrait
The purpose of the Portrait Focus Group (PFG) is to help and guide anyone interested in taking people pictures, improving their images, sharing them with others, and learning at least some basic portrait principles in the time that we have in an evening meeting.
I am always happy to meet with members individually if they want to schedule a time to show me some of their work and meet me at my studio. I can try to answer any questions there as well.
The PFG allows photographers to delve more deeply into their areas of interest, i.e., family, children, weddings, head shots, groups, relationships, and individuals etc. Plus we get to know each other better in a small group setting and we can share tips and tricks and learn from others who have similar interests.
Our group has several professional photographers who help to mentor and guide our growing numbers. One of our goals is to compile a collection of select images from each member to show in a multi-media slide presentation at the end of the year at the Bloomington Photography Club's December meeting.
The Portrait Focus Group meets about 4-5 times a year, determined almost entirely determined by my crazy, roller coaster schedule. We meet at Kip May ‘s studio and Southern Indiana’s Photographic Training Center, located in Artist’s Alley, at 114 E. Smith Ave. (which is 1/2 block east of the Chocolate Moose). This year we have over 40 people participating in the Portrait Focus Group.
