BPC SPUDS and FUG Exhibition

 SPUDS = Street/Photojournalism/Urban/Documentary/Sports

FUG = Film Users Group

We are planning a joint photography exhibit by the SPUDS and FUG focus groups during the month of November at the Bloomington Convention Center.

This is a self juried exhibit, open to all current BPC members in SPUDS and FUG.  If you wish to participate, email Jaime Gonzalez (higonzilla@gmail.com)  and declare if you have 1, 2, or 3 images.

This exhibit will be open to entries on a first come, first serve basis, until we have met our limit of 40 submissions. We will accept ready-to-hang photos at the convention center on 30 October from noon to 5:00 pm. You may also bring your entries to my home if you will not be able to make it on the 30th.

The SPUDS and FUG Photography Exhibit grand opening starts at 6:00 pm at the Monroe Convention Center on November 3rd. This will be held in conjunction with the Bloomington Gallery Walk. https://www.gallerywalkbloomington.com/galleries-exhibits

Guidelines:

1 Works should be a maximum of 700 square inches overall with a maximum single outside dimension of 48 inches. Sample maximum sizes: 26x26, 23x30, 20x35, 14x48 (Most works submitted are smaller).

2. All prints must be matted and framed. Frames should be simple and of decent quality, preferably of metal or narrow dark wood. Glass can be plain glass, non-glare glass, or museum glass. Black, white, or off-white mats work with almost any image. A colored mat should harmonize well with the image. An image mounted on Gator Board may or may not be framed. If the image will be framed, it may have a self-mat, which may be colored or white. (A self-mat is printed on the paper as part of the image, extending evenly around the image so as to resemble an actual mat.)

3. NOTE: Ornate, brightly colored, or decorative frames are allowed if they compliment the photo.

4. For images printed on plexiglass, canvas, glass or metal a frame is optional. No micro-laminate coating is required unless recommended by the printer.

5. Images printed on canvas may be on stretchers or mounted on a rigid backing (Gator Board, but not foam core).

6. Your exhibit image will be identified by a club-supplied wall card and in the catalog using your name, image title, contact information and sale price (or if image is NFS not for sale). Please write or tape your name, phone number on the back of the frame.

The exhibit will be up through November. For those members who are exhibiting, we will be taking down the exhibit on November xx.
